Freedom of Information Requests


The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act gives individuals the right to request access to information in the custody and control of government institutions.

The Act also protects the privacy of individuals by requiring the government to follow specific rules regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information.

The Act applies to Ontario's provincial ministries and provincial agencies, boards and commissions designated by regulation 460 under the Act.

Making a Request

To submit a Freedom of Information request to OPG please send your request in writing to:

Ensure your request includes:

  • Reference to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act;
  • Enough detail to process the request, and
