Darlington Nuclear in the Community
The Darlington Nuclear Generating Station (GS), located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the Municipality of Clarington, has been a part of the community for over 25 years.
Darlington Nuclear is committed to the community, and has supported more than 190 not-for-profit initiatives in Clarington and Oshawa, including the Waterfront Trails. These trails are open year-round for hiking, biking and nature-watching, and provide a home to over 900 different species of wildlife.
Darlington Nuclear contributed $600,000 between 2000-2005 to help establish the OPG Computed Tomography (C.T.) Simulator Unit at the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre. The Centre will provide local residents with convenient access to a full range of cancer-care services.
