Tunnel excavation is from the outlet near the Sir Adam Beck Pump Generating Station (right end) to the intake at the International Niagara Control Works. The tunnel goes under the buried St. David's Gorge and parallels the corridor established for the existing SAB 2 tunnels under the City of Niagara Falls. The TBM is now operating on a revised alignment that will minimize remaining excavation in the Queenston shale formation. Click to enlarge.
