At Ontario Power Generation our commitment to safety and protection of the environment is uncompromising and absolute.
Operating in the safest manner possible is in the interests of our workers, our customers and the communities across Ontario which host OPG generating facilities.
OPG strives to achieve safety excellence and has become a global leader for our safety practices.
We are also a leader when it comes to environmental management. Since our inception we have been committed to the principles of sustainable development and are fully dedicated to minimizing our environmental foot print.
In 2007 alone, OPG planted 320,000 trees in ecologically strategic locations around Ontario. Since the spring of 2000, OPG has planted 2.8 million native trees on more than 1,000 hectares. This effort will offset about one million tonnes of carbon dioxide over the lifetime of the trees.
